want no waiting
upended disheveled
uncomfortably stable
impatient reticent
spoiled spyglass
depressed delirium
anxious anomaly
guilty guess work
loathing locked in
mindless mind trip
running, spinning
out of control
mind mess
need less excess
panicking, sputtering
no body knows
where it will
stop and where
it will go
mind on a free fall
bending, breaking
doing all of this
has my body shaking
mind mush

Here’a my Want list. What’s are your wants? and why? I’m sure there are more, but these are what come to mind right now.
Our Priest gave a very interesting sermon back in April and began by talking about how his father used to put their names on all their belongings so they wouldn’t get lost.
The message is we can never get lost from our Shepherd because we are sealed or “marked” with the holy spirit.
“Be the Church!” is what he said.
When you see someone on the street who doesn’t look like you remember they’re “Not the Other, but the Brother”. We are all intertwined.
Sealed with the Spirit
Indeed we are
healed from within
was why he bore the scars.
Why did he do it
for people like us?
For people who
are not happy
but go around and fuss?
He did it for us.
It’s hard to believe
why a God so great
would choose that
as a time to celebrate.
You see, he knew, and
he tried to tell others,
why he was here
and what he’d discovered
but we didn’t understand
like sheep on the land
and went on living
in sin as we do.
In my bed awake
at night all alone
I think how
the savior bought me
and what I did for it
was nothing -
seems too much to bear.
God says sleep my
child because there’s
work to be done. Fields
are ripe for harvest and
many are to be won.
Witness to others. It’s one of our greatest gifts!
If not you then me.
If not me then who?
A vicious cycle
of things needing
done.
One becomes two
then three become
a ton.
Mountains of things
but not enough time.
All I can think about is
hitting rewind.
Play it back slowly.
And then understand
why changing a light
bulb is much easier than
asking a man.
LOL
I didn’t get the Week 3 Lyrics Discussion out so here goes. Here’s another one of my favorites. I know a lot of you are saying Bon Jovi. Really.?! He is so 1980′s. Well, guess what? I AM so 1980′s. He has a talent for the lyrics and I believe that talent shines through in these lyrics in particular.
I’ll Be There For You – written by Jon Bongiovi and Richard S. Sambora
I guess this time you’re really leaving
I heard your suitcase say goodbye
And as my broken heart lies bleeding
You say true love in suicide
You say you’ve cried a thousand rivers
And now you’re swimming for the shore
You left me drowning in my tears
And you won’t save me anymore
Now I’m praying to God
You’ll give me one more chance, girl
I’ll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
I’ll be there for you
I’d live and I’d die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can’t say what a love can do
I’ll be there for you
I know you know we’re had some good times
How they have their own hiding place
I can promise you tomorrow
But I can’t buy back yesterday
And baby you know my hands are dirty
But I wanted to be your valentine
I’ll be the water when you get thirsty, baby
When you get drunk, I’ll be the wine
I’ll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
I’ll be there for you
I’d live and I’d die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can’t say what a love can do
I’ll be there for you
And I wasn’t there when you were happy
I wasn’t there when you were down
I didn’t mean to miss your birthday, baby
I wish I’d seen you blow those candles out
I’ll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
I’ll be there for you
I’d live and I’d die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can’t say what a love can do
I’ll be there for you

My favorite lyrics from this song are these:
I’ll be there for you
These five words I swear to you (I love how I’ll be there for you is five words and the rhyming here.)
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
I’ll be there for you
I’d live and I’d die for you
Steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can’t say what a love can do
I’ll be there for you
I mean he’d “steal the sun from the sky for you.” Wow. How romantic! Not sure how you’d go about doing that, but totally romantic and extremely high WOW factor.
Also these:
I’ll be the water when you get thirsty, baby
When you get drunk, I’ll be the wine
Ok. I love this. When I get drunk he’s the wine. Whoa. Okay. Have you ever felt like that before? How totally synced they must be.
These lyrics are classic to me. Bon Jovi is an institution and he and the band speak to my college days and the many times I saw them and their long hair in concert. This song remains one of the most romantic rock ballads of all time. Any thoughts? Total denials?
And I have to say he’s held up pretty well. Don’t you think?
Have any of you heard of Tagxedo? It’s a great site you can go to and create a “word cloud” from either the posts on your blog or just words you type (maybe a poem) or anything that you like. I think it’s really innovative. Above is my word cloud for this blog in the shape of a heart. You can use different shapes such as a star, a dove, etc.
Tagxedo, in a nutshell, is a way to “turn words, such as famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters into a visually stunning word cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text.”
Try it out for yourself! It’s super fun. I can’t wait to try some of my poems on there.
They grow up so fast
And before you know it
This time has passed.
We can’t make these
Moments last.
Growing up so fast
It’s scary.
That’s why I’m so wary
Of each little milestone,
Each little look, each little
Girl in the pictures I took.
Where is that child I brought
Home and was scared; to
Breathe too loud – gee I am
So proud.
Soon she’ll be grown
And calling me for advice
And telling me she’s getting on
With her life. I’ll always be
Her mother; no matter how old
because there’s nothing
So precious I will ever hold.

As time goes on it becomes more and more important to have space of your own. A special place to relax and be yourself.
I want to share with you a couple of spaces I like to dream about.
What a great place to take a nap or read a book. You could even sleep here on a nice, breezy night. Imagine a nice, cozy quilt. Oh, and don’t forget the wind chimes. I love my life, don’t’ get me wrong, but when I dream I dream big. That’s why you call them dreams, right? In my dreams here is where I find
A place of my own
is indeed what I need.
I’d cuddle up close
and read a good book.
This would be my own
private nook.
Every stick of furniture
would be old and have
a story. Down to a
desk who’d been owned
by one of the best known
authors in the world, no less.
I’d sit by the fire and
dream all my dreams.
Of owning a gallery
in a city nearby of paintings
I’ve done, not someone else’s.
I would sell books, including a few
bestsellers I have spun.
Let’s leave nothing out. I also
have a loom and know how
to use it as well as a pottery
wheel and an oven.
I could be a visiting curator
at a local museum and
travel to countries so
I could grace others with
my opinions on the finest
art in the world, which, of
course, would be some of
my own.
These are some of the special places in my mind. What about you? What are some of your favorite places and dreams?
Now enough said about small things, but what if you had room for something fun like this in your house?
I think something like this would take the “edge” off a tough day. Don’t you?
As promised, here is more poetry of the past. This one was written in August of 1993. I was, evidently, feeling very strong this day. LOL
It’s entitled “Take a Stand”
Take a stand!
You don’t need a helping hand.
Just say, “I can!”
Speak up for yourself.
Don’t be put up on a shelf.
Just remember your wealth.
That’s YOURSELF!
Believe in who you are.
Trust in your skills
and have strong will.
If you do these things,
there’s no void in life
that cannot be filled.
