steal the sun from the sky for you . . .

I didn’t get the Week 3 Lyrics Discussion out so here goes.  Here’s another one of my favorites.  I know a lot of you are saying Bon Jovi.  Really.?!  He is so 1980’s.  Well, guess what?  I AM so 1980’s.  He has a talent for the lyrics and I believe that talent shines through in these lyrics in particular.

I’ll Be There For You – written by Jon Bongiovi and Richard S. Sambora

I guess this time you’re really leaving

I heard your suitcase say goodbye

And as my broken heart lies bleeding

You say true love in suicide

You say you’ve cried a thousand rivers

And now you’re swimming for the shore

You left me drowning in my tears

And you won’t save me anymore

Now I’m praying to God

You’ll give me one more chance, girl

I’ll be there for you

These five words I swear to you

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I’ll be there for you

I’d live and I’d die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can’t say what a love can do

I’ll be there for you

I know you know we’re had some good times

How they have their own hiding place

I can promise you tomorrow

But I can’t buy back yesterday

And baby you know my hands are dirty

But I wanted to be your valentine

I’ll be the water when you get thirsty, baby

When you get drunk, I’ll be the wine

I’ll be there for you

These five words I swear to you

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I’ll be there for you

I’d live and I’d die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can’t say what a love can do

I’ll be there for you

And I wasn’t there when you were happy

I wasn’t there when you were down

I didn’t mean to miss your birthday, baby

I wish I’d seen you blow those candles out

I’ll be there for you

These five words I swear to you

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I’ll be there for you

I’d live and I’d die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can’t say what a love can do

I’ll be there for you

My favorite lyrics from this song are these:

I’ll be there for you

These five words I swear to you (I love how I’ll be there for you is five words and the rhyming here.)

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I’ll be there for you

I’d live and I’d die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can’t say what a love can do

I’ll be there for you

I mean he’d “steal the sun from the sky for you.”  Wow.  How romantic!  Not sure how you’d go about doing that, but totally romantic and extremely high WOW factor.

Also these:

I’ll be the water when you get thirsty, baby

When you get drunk, I’ll be the wine

Ok.  I love this.  When I get drunk he’s the wine.  Whoa.  Okay.  Have you ever felt like that before?  How totally synced they must be.

These lyrics are classic to me.  Bon Jovi is an institution and he and the band speak to my college days and the many times I saw them and their long hair in concert.  This song remains one of the most romantic rock ballads of all time.  Any thoughts?  Total denials?

And I have to say he’s held up pretty well.  Don’t you think?

I like living the simple life, spending time with my family and reading and writing about my interests in my blog. One of my hopes in developing this blog is to share with you the many things I enjoy so that you may enjoy them too. I love sharing cool information with people who appreciate it. I like pinning on Pinterest, keeping track of my high school friends, college friends and family on Facebook and don’t tell anyone, but I sometimes re-shelve books at the library because I enjoy it.
